Celebrity chef restaurants Waku Ghin and Osteria Mozza at
Marina Bay Sands each earned a place on the 2015 list of Asia's
50 Best Restaurants at an awards ceremony in March.
Veteran chef Tetsuya Wakuda had extra reason to celebrate:
aside from Waku Ghin's number-nine spot in Asia's 50 Best
Restaurants 2015, he was also recipient of a Diners Club
Lifetime Achievement Award. The accolades marked Waku
Ghin's third consecutive appearance on the list, cementing
the chef's reputation as one of the world's best. "This is a
great honour and recognition for the talented team at Waku
Ghin," he said. "I am humbled and thankful for the support
from my team, our friends and Marina Bay Sands."
Osteria Mozza re-entered the list at number 45. Under
Executive Chef David Almany, the menu boasts an extensive
offering of mozzarella and pasta dishes, as well as antipasti,
meat, fish and, of course, dolci. "I'm honoured to represent
the food of Mario Batali, Nancy Silverton and Joe Bastianich
in Asia," said Almany. "This award is a great recognition and
encouragement for the team's hard work in presenting
delicious Italian cuisine."
