24 s u m m e r 2 0 15 | S ince opening our doors just over five years ago, marina Bay sands has been synonymous with celebrities, and has been the location of choice for some of the biggest names in entertainment. In this issue of sANDs sle we meet Jessie J, who just a few years ago was an artist hoping to be discovered. Now, she's pop royalty, with record sales approaching 15 million, number-one hits in 19 countries and a series of sell-out world tours. Jessie's success made her the perfect choice to headline a galaxy of superstars at singapore International Jazz Festival (sing Jazz), held at marina Bay sands in march. In our interview on page 70, the singer talks about her latest album and what's next for her. We also catch up with three stars who shared the stage with Jessie at sing Jazz: American vocalist Bobby mcFerrin, funk diva Chaka Khan and malaysian soul sensation Yuna. Fans the world over know the voice of Idina menzel, who as elsa the snow Queen in the film Frozen sang the Oscar and Grammy Award-winning song Let it Go. The singer and actress has also won Tony awards for musicals Wicked and If/Then. We talked to the star about her determination to strike a balance beeen career and motherhood ahead of a summer tour that brings her to the event Center at sands Bethlehem – sister proper of marina Bays sands. The French gourmand reveals that the secret to his 20 years of culinary success is to continually refine and refresh the dining experience. We also sit down with "Gypsy Chef" David myers, who recently launched bar and restaurant Adri with a menu inspired by his culinary travels.
